With the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to provide an update and safety guidelines for our valued customers.
At Pfanner Canada, the safety of our staff and customers is number one priority. We have taken extra precautions during this pandemic, which has resulted in a much smaller workforce. We have also implemented a significantly increased, mandated hand-washing and sanitization schedule.
We are aware that many of our customers work alone and can therefore continue to work as they normally do, and must do so to keep food on their table. With this in mind, we are doing our best to continue operating and fulfilling orders as normal.
It is our standard to have all online orders physically leave our facility within 1 business day of receiving the order. However, given the challenges we are currently facing with our limited workforce, customers may experience a short delay before their order is shipped. We apologize for this inconvenience.
We also recommend that all customers acknowledge the risk of cross contamination from packages upon delivery. We cannot control who and what touches your parcel during transit, so we advise our customers to exercise caution with any packages when they arrive. Ways to avoid contamination include: setting the parcel aside in a safe place for 5 days after it has been delivered to ensure that any bacteria has died off, sanitizing the parcel upon delivery, and (most importantly) thoroughly washing your hands and any surfaces it may have touched immediately after handling the parcel.
We are also experiencing some delays in new stock arriving from the manufacturer in Austria, as they are also operating with a reduced workforce. This means that special orders, both current and future, may take longer than the typical 4-8 week delivery time. At the moment, parcels are crossing the Canadian/US borders as normal, but we will provide updates should that situation change.
